Through more than 90 interviews, the author explores the symbiotic relationship between a working dog and its handler, allowing the individual stories to shine as well as looking at the larger meaning of working dogs in our society. WORKING DOGS addresses both the positives and negatives of dog work and looks at what working dogs symbolize in the larger role of animals in society.
Some of the specific jobs investigated include Service Dogs, Search and Rescue Dogs, K-9 Cops, and Showbiz Dogs.
Full-color photographs convey the human/dog bond, the physical capacity of the dogs, and the essence of their work.
