Cardiology of the Horse*

This book aims to provide the reader with an up-to-date account of current clinical practice in equine cardiology. The first section reviews the physiology and pathophysiology of the equine cardiovascular system. The second describes diagnostic methods available to the veterinarian, from basic examination skills such as auscultation to the details of 2-D, M-mode, Doppler and Transoesophageal Echocardiography. The chapters in the third section address the investigation and clinical management of common clinical problems in equine cardiology using a problem-oriented approach.
