The original book published in 1742 is now extremely rare and a copy, if found, would cost hundreds of pounds (sterling) At the time cockfighting was an extremely popular sport and, maccording to the autor, "is daily growing in esteem". The treatise, although in the form of a poem, contains a great deal of historial and factual information on such matters as the pedigree of the Game Fowl, breeding, hatching, colours, management, diseases and maintaining a strong constitution.
